Family Night or Family Day

CATEGORY: Family Night
No one knows your loved one better than you, and there is little doubt about the importance that families have in the lives of those living with dementia. A long-term study conducted by the National Institute of Health (2015) shows that family involvement greatly enhances the quality-of-life and well-being of those living with dementia. This may seem obvious to those who are caregivers, but for those distant family members, their feelings may center more on the frustration and helplessness of not being nearby.

To support a loved one with cognitive challenges, we have developed a creative workshop for the entire family, no matter where everyone lives. Using a Smartphone or computer and a modern video communication system (Facetime or Zoom, for example), the whole family can participate in a creative session that offers learning, laughing, and creating.

Engaging at Home™ offers dozens of projects. All participants create a one-of-a-kind painting (for example) that will always remind them of a wonderful time spent with their loved one. Is there anything better than being able to call mom or grandfather and relive the experience?

Glorious sunsets, long-necked giraffes, or funny pink pigs; what interests your loved one?

Begin by having the person with dementia select the project. Then let us do the rest of the work for you:
  •  We provide a creative and talented artist to lead you and your family through a fun and enjoyable creative experience..
  • Project materials are mailed to each participant.
  • The private family session is then scheduled on a day and time of your choice.
  • Everyone logs in, and the fun begins!
  • Each artist is encouraged to add their unique style to the painting; these projects are one-of-a-kind, no look-alike crafts.

Don’t let distance stop you from spending quality time with friends & family, contact Engaging at Home™ today.
