America's National Parks A to Z

Since 1916, the National Park Service has been entrusted with the care of our national parks. During this class, we will explore the history of the parks, the artists, the photographers, writers, and musicians who have helped us celebrate their beauty and their unique qualities.

Mindful Movements

Participate with your loved one at least three times per week in seated fitness sessions. Mindfulness movement is an effective way to reduce stress and anxiety. Sammi, our class instructor, is a trained expert on fitness programs for those living with dementia. You’ll find her classes to be enjoyable and personable, all while encouraging movement, flexibility, relaxation, and better cardiovascular conditioning.

Curiosity

Curiosity is a word that we use all the time with people who participate in Engaging at Home classes. The past 20 years have had an emergence of research around our aging brains. While we don’t have cures for dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, we have discovered that doing things we don’t normally do, like being curious, can strengthen and create new brain pathways.
